Every rehabilitation sailing trip happens because of people who chose to do something more than just donate money. Defenders come to us with different experiences and different needs and each one finds their place on board. Volunteers and partners make sure that place is both possible and meaningful. I'm a Defender
Participation in the trip is free of charge for defenders with amputations and those released from russian captivity. Defenders join as full crew members — not as patients or guests. This means: standing watch, learning to hoist sails, and taking responsibility for their duties and tasks on board. No sailing experience is required. Defenders become part of a supportive team and discover new reserves of strength for an active life, alongside their brothers-in-arms and volunteers.
I'm a Volunteer
A volunteer on the trip is a full crew member. They not only support a defender when needed but also stand watch, cook alongside defenders, moor the vessel, and learn together as a team how to sail the boat.
The volunteer contribution is €800, which covers both the volunteer’s place and a defender’s place on board.
Additional logistical costs, including flights, transfers, and the ship’s kitty (onboard expenses), amount to approximately €1,200–1,400 in total (depending on the country of the trip). Support and coordination of the rehabilitation sailing trips are provided by the Titans Under Sails team throughout the entire process, from the first weeks of preparation to the return to Ukraine.
